Parivartan - Change is Inevitable!

Parivartan is a radical concept. It stands for the total change in the way things are going on... People hesitate to enter politics because they say it is dirty. Well then, why not cleanse it? This is the aim of Parivartan. It aims at the creation of a thinking, acting youth....future leaders.

Politics behind the Fuel Price Issue

Posted by Vedaj JP

Even primary school kids know that there exist a thing called crude oil and that its price had come down! But our leaders seem to be still asleep.

Well, actually, they are not asleep....they are just meditating on the fact that such a grievous thing had happened, that their dear friends at OPEC must have got really affected by this.

Bluntly put, even after the fall of crude oil prices, a human with a bit of human intelligence and commonsense, would feel, there are other interests behind "still not reducing" the fuel prices, despite the repeated announcements made by the petroleum ministry.

Some may ask whether slashing the retail selling price of petrol by Rs 5 a litre and diesel by Rs 2 a litre did not mean anything? Well, yes! It did mean a lot. It was relief to the common man and his household.

It meant a lot to the fuel resellers as well. They lost a lot of money all of a sudden, as they had to sell their stocks purchased for a higher price for a lower one, because the price cut was a surprise to the general public (and a shock to the fuel retailers)

That was part I of the story. Now, the fuel sellers are more vigilant. They are prepared for further reductions in fuel prices. So, they don't stock anything!

And the public? They lineup in front of petrol pumps, wherever there is stock, for hours... smiling, crying, and expressing their anger for the media to shoot.

As a result of the extreme shortage of fuel, demand rises. In such a huge economy like India, scarcity is exponentially proportional to demand. With the continuation of this state for some more time, global demand for fuel also rises.

And so, crude oil prices climb up.

Now our government can tell us "Oh no, the crude prices have gone up! We have no other option, but to hike the fuel prices...!"

Dear friends, if not for this reason, why is the government repeatedly promising a cut in the prices, but never doing it? (Thereby increasing the insecurity of fuel stockists and creating a scarcity)

Is there any external interests in this matter? Is there any other country(ies) or organizations behind keeping the fuel prices high even now? If not, why delay the already promised cut in the prices o petroleum products?

As citizens, we must all get answers to these questions. This is not to hurt any political party or organization, but to warn them against black sheeps among themselves.

So dear leaders, don't let us down....do what you promised now. Because "Justice delayed is justice denied!"

Vedaj,
It is well known that our politiians hav other interests in their minds for everything,be it the purchase of weapons for the army or the purchase of coffins.
But we citizens tend to forget everything after sometime. After some months or years, no one's gonna remember how cunningly these people raised the price of petrol n diesel....so, when they do it again l8r, they r not gonna hav much trouble even then.
To stop such nonsense, we need 2 show those politicians the country's not their private property....2 do this, somthin' lyk wat we see in d movie Rang de basanti must be done...only then will these ppl hav fear dat there will be somone 2 question them
