Starting from Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi...the Gandhi blood line continues to reign, why is that the congress only have "gandhi" candidature for the elections? Is our country under the dictatorship of the Gandhis & the congress the family drama of the Gandhis supported by some other "uncles" & "relatives''?? Next in line is the so called young & dynamic Rahul Gandhi...

Rahul Gandhi exuding confidence, trying to charm his way through and then refusing to distinguish between political allies and enemies all made for a very candid press conference.

"He is a person with very candid views on subjects. He understands the subject, goes in to depth of the subject and he is able to give an analytical point of view," said AICC Secretary, Tom Vadakkan.

The press conference was so much from the heart that the Gandhi scion praised Chandrababu Naidu when Congress Chief Minister Y S Rajashekhar Reddy is fighting a tough battle in Andhra Pradesh. The young General Secretary of the Congress also applauded Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, forgetting that Nitish would push Congress ally Lalu Prasad off-track.

Rahul also shamelessly courted the Left, failing to remember that he could be hurting Trinamool Congress sentiments in the process.

Rahul Gandhi said, "On the idea that the poor need to be included, we completely agree with the Left."

And the Congress thought that they had discovered another Rajiv Gandhi. His party thought that every moment of the press conference created an impact.

Union Minister for Science and Technology, Kapil Sibal said, "He has a vision of InRajivdia like his father did and I am sure he will lead the country in times to come."

There is no doubt that Rahul Gandhi means business. He is also trying to infuse a lot of freshness into the system, the way his father had two decades ago, and his vision of bridging the two Indias seem to have taken over his mind ever since he acquainted himself with the problems that a Kalavati experiences.

Congress Spokesperson Veerappa Moily said, "Rahul Gandhi is already on the centerstage now. He is our leader in the manner in which he has organised the party and introduced intra-democracy."

The question is - has Rahul Gandhi really evolved from a well-meaning individual to a complete politician? The answer is probably no, but what matters is that his party sees a future in him and is slowly pushing him up towards the country's top job.

What I seriously feel is that, Gandhis mean Business & they are running it pretty well, & yet we bear all this blasphemy& turn a blind eye to it....

Politics behind the Fuel Price Issue

Even primary school kids know that there exist a thing called crude oil and that its price had come down! But our leaders seem to be still asleep.

Well, actually, they are not asleep....they are just meditating on the fact that such a grievous thing had happened, that their dear friends at OPEC must have got really affected by this.

Bluntly put, even after the fall of crude oil prices, a human with a bit of human intelligence and commonsense, would feel, there are other interests behind "still not reducing" the fuel prices, despite the repeated announcements made by the petroleum ministry.

Some may ask whether slashing the retail selling price of petrol by Rs 5 a litre and diesel by Rs 2 a litre did not mean anything? Well, yes! It did mean a lot. It was relief to the common man and his household.

It meant a lot to the fuel resellers as well. They lost a lot of money all of a sudden, as they had to sell their stocks purchased for a higher price for a lower one, because the price cut was a surprise to the general public (and a shock to the fuel retailers)

That was part I of the story. Now, the fuel sellers are more vigilant. They are prepared for further reductions in fuel prices. So, they don't stock anything!

And the public? They lineup in front of petrol pumps, wherever there is stock, for hours... smiling, crying, and expressing their anger for the media to shoot.

As a result of the extreme shortage of fuel, demand rises. In such a huge economy like India, scarcity is exponentially proportional to demand. With the continuation of this state for some more time, global demand for fuel also rises.

And so, crude oil prices climb up.

Now our government can tell us "Oh no, the crude prices have gone up! We have no other option, but to hike the fuel prices...!"

Dear friends, if not for this reason, why is the government repeatedly promising a cut in the prices, but never doing it? (Thereby increasing the insecurity of fuel stockists and creating a scarcity)

Is there any external interests in this matter? Is there any other country(ies) or organizations behind keeping the fuel prices high even now? If not, why delay the already promised cut in the prices o petroleum products?

As citizens, we must all get answers to these questions. This is not to hurt any political party or organization, but to warn them against black sheeps among themselves.

So dear leaders, don't let us down....do what you promised now. Because "Justice delayed is justice denied!"

Rebirth of Parivartan

Dear friends,

You must have visited this blog many a times, and seen it never -updated, and always clean. Well, everyone has problems. As the proverb goes,"Those without problems are not human". Now, things are kind of OK for team Parivartan, and we will try to update it atleast once in a month.

As the first step, let me bring to your notice, an SMS that had been spreading after the Mumbai attacks. One that questions the the policy of rewarding an Olympic shooter for bringing laurels to the country, but "insufficiently, or improperly" rewarding the martyrs of the Mumbai attacks.

Many would have thought about it and left it right there, after some heated discussions in your own circles. Some would have sent comments to news channels.....and there, it ends.

Next time we have a problem, we cannot say none will die. There will be commandos dying while defending this country, because evil always exits and will strike every now and then.

What more could be done, if not to completely stop such mishaps, atleast to reduce the impact? We are the public, we are the real ones who rule the country. Cant we better equip our armed forces? Cant we make the leaders act? Yes, we can!

Then its time to act, to bring such changes. I request the readers of this blog to unite and send memos, emails etc, to our leaders, demanding( I repeat, "Demanding- because we have the right to do so!)" to bring bills to provide more and better ammunitions to our Armed Forces and the Police. Ask them to bring bills that allow more to be spent on R&D for defence.

Maybe, we have a Brahmos, and a few other technologies. But thats all we have, the largest democracy, 2nd fastest growing economy, 2nd largest population and the 7th largest country....with such a large pool of scientists, technocrats and engineers! Our military technology is far inferior to those of many other nations, far below us in matters like this.

I do not wish to make this country a violent one, like some terrorist nations. But we must have more indigenous content in our arsenal.

Only then will our position be safe in this modern world.

Jai Hind!
